Frank Gravis is  originally from San Antonio, Texas, now living in New York City. He has made a career out of playing bass guitar for the last 30 years. In that time, he has played and/or toured with Herbie Mann, David Sanborn, Hiram Bullock, Jack McDuff, Rupert Holmes, Jorge Dalto, Zhané, Toninho Horta, Ray Barretto, Cy Coleman, Angelo Badalamenti, and many others. He has also played on countless television and radio commercials. He continues to play in and around New York, as well as teach at The Collective.  His main focus at the school is teaching groove techniques, musicianship, and bass guitar fundamentals.
